Ingredients & Nutrition

Q: Are all Petit Zèbre products organic?

A: All Petit Zèbre food products are made out of only the purest organic ingredients, carefully selected by EU-certified farmers. It is important for us that our food products are always organic, always nutritious and always delicious, so you can confidently feed your little one.

Q: Why should I choose organic products?

Organic means working with nature. It means higher levels of animal welfare, lower levels of pesticides, no manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers and more environmentally sustainable management of the land and natural environment, which means more wildlife. No matter what it is that you buy, when you choose organic food, cleaning products and skin care, you choose products that promote a better world. Organic food comes from trusted sources. All organic farms and food companies are inspected at least once a year and the standards for organic food are laid down in European law.

  • Organic means the very highest standards of animal welfare & animals reared without the routine use of drugs, antibiotics & wormers.
  • In organic farming systems, animals are reared without the routine use of drugs, antibiotics and wormers common in intensive livestock farming.
  • Organic farms are havens for wildlife and provide homes for bees, birds and butterflies – there is up to 50% more wildlife on organic farms!
  • No system of farming does more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and protect natural resources.
  • +1 million tonnes of GM crops are imported each year to feed non-organic livestock. Organic animals can’t be fed on GM feed.

A: A full list of the ingredients can be found on each of our product labels as well as under the description section on our website.

Q: Why is vitamin B1 added to some of your food products?

A: Vitamin B1 (also known as Thiamine) is a water-soluble vitamin responsible for enabling the body to transform food into energy. Vitamin B1 also has a big role in supporting the nervous system. Therefore, to ensure your little one gets enough of this essential nutrient, a law was enforced, stating vitamin B1 must be added to all baby cereals and snacks.

A: Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, semolina, spelt, malts, couscous and a cross between wheat and barley called triticale. Oats are genetically gluten free however it is possible that they may have contact with gluten containing grains during harvesting or while being processed in the factories.
